Man City to battle Manchester United and Liverpool for midfielder and other transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly set to battle their two biggest rivals for the signature of AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 22-year-old has played an important role for the French side this season in a defensive midfield position. He has scored three goals and gained two assists in 41 appearances.

Marca claim that it is a straight three-way battle between City, Manchester United and Liverpool for his services. Juventus are also reportedly interested but Marca believe that Tchouameni does not favour a move to Serie A.

Tottenham Hotspur's director of football, Paul Mitchell, described the Frenchman as the 'complete midfielder' in a previous interview with Tuttosport. Tchouameni has been likened to Steven Gerrard for his style of play.

Elsewhere, a City star is reportedly set to have his wages doubled when he is offered a new contract at the Etihad Stadium. Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola (via TEAMtalk) claims that Gabriel Jesus will be sticking with the Blues.

Currently, his deal in Manchester expires in 2023 but Nicola is confident that the striker is fully part of Pep Guardiola's plans. The journalist believes that any new deal which Jesus signs will double his current salary.

The 24-year-old has made 28 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring six goals and grabbing an impressive nine assists. City have often favoured a strikerless system and after a spell out of the squad due to injury, Jesus has had to settle for a place on the bench in recent weeks.
