Man City suffer massive injury blow vs Leeds United amid Erling Haaland absence
Manchester City star Nico O'Reilly was forced off with an injury during Saturday's 1-0 win at Leeds United. The versatile full-back turned midfielder went down holding his ankle and was seen saying “not good” to City captain Bernardo Silva.
The City academy graduate was replaced by Tijjani Reijnders in the 71st minute at Elland Road. O'Reilly's injury is a huge blow to City in the title race, despite Antoine Semenyo's winner in West Yorkshire putting them two points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal. The 20-year-old scored a brace last time out against Newcastle United to continue his fine form for Pep Guardiola's side.
Guardiola recently heaped praise on O'Reilly, who has offered City more variety in attack. The 55-year-old outlined, after the Newcastle win, what makes him so good.
He said: “He’s played full back, played holding midfielder when Rodri was not there, now he’s in his position.
