Man City star Jack Grealish sets out four personal targets for next season

Jack Grealish has already set his sights on significant improvement next season as he looks to kick on in his Manchester City career.

Grealish became the most expensive British player in history when the Blues paid £100m to sign him from Aston Villa last summer. The 26-year-old ended his first campaign by lifting the Premier League title at the Etihad after beating his former club, although he had been an unused substitute during the game.

Pep Guardiola and City bosses have full confidence in Grealish's ability but the player himself has admitted it has been a challenge to adapt to the demands in Manchester, and his transfer fee has placed extra levels of scrutiny on his game at a time when his role has changed from what it was at his former club.

The England international has still enjoyed his first year at City though, and while he has been shown that good performances are not just measured by goals and assists he knows that they will be key to showing progress next year.

"Being involved more, to get more goals and assists and win more silverware. That's my aim," said Grealish, speaking at the launch of Sure’s new 72 Hour Nonstop Protection Antiperspirant. "That's why I'm here to win as many trophies as I can and hopefully I can do that this year and next year.

"It’s obviously been difficult to move from the club that I've always been at. But no, my ambitions have kept me going. I've always wanted to do this and play at the highest level in the biggest games and perform at the highest level. So that's what I came here for, and just my ambition to carry on improving and carry on being better has obviously pushed me."
