Man City Premier League relegation odds as FFP charges case throws up worst-case scenario

Manchester City are lowly priced to be relegated from the Premier League this season, while their hearing into alleged Financial Fair Play (FFP) breaches continues in London.

Originally, it was thought City had been charged with 115 alleged FFP breaches. However, amid some confusion, confirmation came that they are actually facing up to 130 charges from the top-flight.

The charges date back to between 2009 and 2018. In that time-frame, the Blues won four Premier League titles, while an independent regulator is dealing with what remains a complex case.

City have always disputed the validity of the charges put forward by the Premier League, and argue they have "irrefutable evidence" to clear their name. Should the Blues be found guilty by the independent panel, however, there are plenty of question marks surrounding what their punishment could be.

Perhaps the most alarming for City fans is the prospect of being relegated from the Premier League owing to a massive would-be points deduction, or being expelled from the division. Both outcomes are still some way off becoming a reality right now - although bookmakers Bet365 are offering shortish odds on the Blues to go down.

Punters can currently take up odds of 12/1 on City to be relegated from the Premier League this season. To put it into context, that's the same price as Crystal Palace to go down and shorter odds than West Ham.
