Ederson

Rested for Manchester City's first friendly, and given the full run-out vs Bayern Munich, Ederson showed why he will remain first choice despite a good debut from Stefan Ortega. Let off by the offside flag early on, Ederson recovered with some good distribution under pressure, although he wasn't particularly tested with any difficult saves. 6

Stefan Ortega

His first action in a City shirt was to smartly push away a close-range shot vs Club America, and his second was to pick out Riyad Mahrez on the halfway line with a pinpoint pass, showing the Blues won't have to adapt to the new goalkeeper when he deputises. Ortega played the full 90 minutes vs Club America and looked comfortable. 6

Kyle Walker

Given the first game at right-back, Walker looked his usual solid self against Club America, often operating in a back-three while City were in possession. He moved to centre-back towards the end to allow Kalvin Phillips to move into midfield, and when he came on against Bayern Munich, he operated in the centre again. He told reporters that he relishes competition for his place and has no plans to retire, backing those statements up with his two outings in the US. 6

Joao Cancelo

The full-back played in a position more suiting to the new number on his back vs Club America, coming inside alongside Rodri, and often making runs into empty space into the attack. With a more defensive brief against Bayern Munich, Cancelo looked a little more uncomfortable when given the chance to show his abilities on the right - although being pressed back isn't the best part of his game. Left-back may be where he gets the majority of his minutes this season,
