Man City 'make latest Frenkie de Jong move' and other transfer rumours

Manchester City are said to be the latest club to have expressed an interest in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

Manchester United recently expressed an interest in the 25-year-old. But according to reports in Spain, the Blues have now reignited their pursuit of the Netherlands international.

Pep Guardiola was unsuccessful in his bid to sign De Jong in 2019 after he opted for a move to La Liga. However, Barcelona's financial struggles have seen them forced to cut ties with a whole host of stars and De Jong could be next.

According to Sport (via Sport Witness), City have 'positioned' themselves for a potential move. Xavi failed to rule out a move away for De Jong in recent days but speculation suggests Barcelona will only entertain offers of around €100m (£84m) - a fee the Spanish outlet says the Blues will not offer.

Meanwhile, a whole host of clubs have reportedly expressed interest in Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian forward - who has been in blistering form in recent weeks - is said to be on the radar of the likes of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan, according to Fichajes.

The 25-year-old still has a year remaining on his deal in the north west but has been fiercely linked with a move to the English capital. Arsenal are set to lose Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette as their contracts expire this summer.
