Man City hero Kevin De Bruyne nominated for PFA's Players' Player of the Year award

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has been nominated for the PFA's Players' Player of the Year award.

The Belgian playmaker has continued his sensational spell at City this campaign with 19 goals and 14 assists in 45 appearances for the Blues. His final contribution of the season proved vital when he assisted Ilkay Gundogan to score the goal which secured the Premier League title.

It has been a sensational couple of weeks for the 30-year-old having won the Premier League's Player of the Year award and he was also named in Champions League's team of the season despite City only reaching the semi-finals. The team chosen by UEFA was dominated by players from Real Madrid and Liverpool.

De Bruyne was also celebrating this week for his work away from the pitch. On Tuesday it was announced that he had gained his UEFA A coach licence as part of an initiative run by the Belgian FA.

City's star man faces tough competition if he wishes to win the coveted prize. Liverpool's Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been nominated alongside Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo.

Last year's award was won by the Reds' Salah. De Bruyne will discover if he has won the award on Thursday, June 9.
