Man City get double fitness boost ahead of Brentford return in Premier League

Guardiola saw two of his players withdraw from international duty having missed the win at West Ham - Phil Foden still suffering from illness and Savinho a surprise omission with a minor setback.

Savinho subsequently withdrew from the Brazil squad, with City and Pep Guardiola hopeful he could return after the international break. Now, the winger has posted a social media update offering progress on his recovery.

His update showed him in his personal gym in his flat in Manchester, appearing to suggest he is on track with Guardiola's initial diagnosis. As City return to training this week, they will hope for Savinho to be available.
