Man City 'fully capable' of winning Treble says Ederson

Manchester City are capable of winning the Treble this season, according to goalkeeper Ederson. The Blues showed again on Sunday how far ahead of neighbours United they are as their derby win took them 22 points ahead of their nearest rivals, while the team have set a slew of Premier League and English records under Pep Guardiola.

One record they have not got near, however, is the Treble. United remain the only side in English history to win the league, FA Cup, and Champions League in the same season, although City are still in with a chance of it this season.

As well as sitting top of the Premier League, City are in the FA Cup quarter-finals and will also be in the Champions League last-eight barring a catastrophe against Sporting on Wednesday night. And while Guardiola will not be talking up their chances as he looks to keep the focus of the players, Ederson was happy to admit it is a possibility for the group this season

Asked if a Treble was realistic to aim for, City's goalkeeper replied: "Definitely. We know how difficult it is. A season here in in England is very intense, especially around the Boxing Day period when there are a lot of games in a short space of time.

"That is very demanding on the entire group. We know how difficult it is but we have the quality to do this. We've shown this previously and we're showing it at the moment. I think we're fully capable of meeting this achievement.

"Our goal is to go into every tournament to win. We have to take things step by step to progress. We know there are challenges in every competition. Every game has its own challenges and we have to take things step by
