Man City fans send clear Pep Guardiola message after Premier League title heroics

Manchester City supporters are very pleased with Pep Guardiola’s efforts this season after the Catalan coach picked up his fourth Premier League title.

The club managed to fend off Liverpool to clinch the crown by a point for the second time during his tenure. However, one big blot on the season will be their Champions League semi-final exit.

City were stunned late on by Real Madrid, meaning they were denied the chance to right the wrongs of last year’s final. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped fans from praising Guardiola for his efforts this campaign.

Just under 58 per cent of the 1,700 supporters who voted in a Manchester Evening News poll said the 51-year-old enjoyed a ‘brilliant’ season. Around 39 per cent said he had a ‘good’ season while just 2.4 per cent viewed him as having an ‘average’ term.

Less than one per cent said he had a ‘poor’ season. The title win means City have won at least one piece of silverware during the last five years of Guardiola’s tenure.

He has just 12 months left on his deal and fans are eager to see him tied down to a long-term deal to mirror Jurgen Klopp’s contract extension with Liverpool. In fact, a huge 88 per cent of voters said the club's number one priority this year is to secure Guardiola’s future.
