Man City could beat Barcelona to signing of Spanish wonderkid and more transfer rumours

Manchester City are reportedly battling Barcelona for the signature of Spanish wonderkid Alberto Moleiro who has been dubbed 'the new Pedri'.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder currently plays for Las Palmas in Spain's second division but he is expected to be leaving the club this summer. According to HITC as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have reportedly offered £10m for the player but the deal is far from done and Manchester City are interested in bringing the starlet to the Premier League.

City will be bolstered by Barcelona's recent activity in the transfer market as the Spanish giants may find it difficult to match Las Palmas' asking price after such heavy spending elsewhere. A combination of City's track record in developing young talent and Pep Guardiola's appeal could see the Tenerife-born Moleiro make the move to Manchester this summer.

Elsewhere, reports have surfaced that Manchester City have the finances available to sign Neymar from PSG and that Pep Guardiola is weighing up a move for the 30-year-old Brazilian, according to reports from Sports Illustrated as per Josh Wilson.

Guardiola has always been keen on signing Neymar but his wages have been a stumbling block in the likelihood of any deal. With the departures of Raheem Sterling, Garbiel Jesus and Fernandinho - City reportedly now have the space on their wage bill to make a deal happen.

The departures of Sterling and Jesus in particular now mean that the club are looking to fill a gap out wide, and after winning four Ligue 1 titles with PSG, Neymar is rumoured to be open to a move to the Premier League to team up Guardiola's side.
