Man charged with murder of James Murray in Wythenshawe
A man has been charged with the murder of James Murray in Wythenshawe.
Mr Murray, 47, was found unresponsive after Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a stabbing on Whitburn Road at around 8pm on Wednesday (December 4). Despite best efforts to save him, Mr Murray was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Scott Thomson, 57, of Skye Walk in Wythenshawe, has been charged with an offence of murder. He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Monday, December 9.

Police have said that a 64-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has since been released on bail.
Paying tribute to Mr Murray, his family said: "The family of James Murray appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support since we have discovered the sad news of his untimely death. We, at this time, ask for privacy as we deal with our grief and loss.
"We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information that can assist the investigation, to contact Greater Manchester Police."
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder, however they are continuing to appeal for anyone who has information to come forward.
