Man charged with assault on emergency worker and racial harassment during tractor burglary

A man has appeared in court charged with a number of offences during the burglary of a tractor. Jordan Sabo, 18, was arrested last Thursday (July 14) before appearing in court charged with non-dwelling burglary, assault on emergency worker, using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress, GMP Rochdale said.

He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on July 16, and will appear again on July 21. Police say these charges came after an incident in Wardle, near Littleborough, Rochdale, where a tractor was stolen. He was arrested on the same day.

A GMP Rochdale spokesman said: "Jordan Sabo (18) was arrested 14th July 2022 and charged with: Burglary other than Dwelling, Assault on Emergency Worker, Using Threatening, Abusive or Insulting Words or Behaviour to cause Harassment, Alarm or Distress, Racially or Religiously Aggravated Intentional Harassment, Alarm or Distress.

"The burglary refers to an incident in the Wardle area where a tractor was stolen on 14th July 2022. Sabo appeared in Court 16th July 2022 where he was remanded in Custody to reappear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court 21st July 2022."
