Man charged over stone-throwing at buses incident

A man has been charged after three buses on the Leigh guided busway route were damaged and traffic was disrupted in the Worsley area of Salford this week.

Dylan Henderson, 21, will next appear at Wigan Magistrates' Court on May 18 accused of criminal damage. This relates to an incident which occurred on Wednesday (April 6) where buses were damaged by stones being thrown at them, forcing Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to re-route the buses.

The Vantage V1 and V2 services, which are operated by First, usually travel out of Salford on the East Lancashire Road and then head through Tyldesley on their way to Leigh or Atherton. But passengers were instead asked to use 'diversion stops' while officers dealt with anti-social behaviour along the route.
