Man arrested for murder after death of Thomas Campbell

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Thomas Campbell in Tameside.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after the 38-year-old's body was found at a property on Riverside, in Mossley, on July 3. A man and a woman have already been charged with conspiracy to commit his murder.

Coleen Campbell, 38, of Bamford Street, Clayton, and Stephen Raymond Cleworth, 37, of Charles Street, Heywood, have initially appeared at court and have been remanded into custody. On Saturday (July 16), a 27-year-old man was arrested in Tameside on suspicion of murder.

He was interviewed by detectives then released on police bail, Greater Manchester Police said in an update issued today (July 18). Police said the murder investigation is now progressing 'at pace'.

Detective Inspector Mark Davis, of our Major Incident Team, said: "Our dedicated team of detectives have been working extremely hard on this case ever since Thomas was tragically found dead earlier this month. We continue to progress this investigation thoroughly and at pace, and are always keen to hear from anyone who may have information that they may not yet have told us as it could still be crucial to getting the answers Thomas’ family crave.

"Do please contact us with anything you may know, at any time, by calling 101, or via the LiveChat facility on our website, quoting Operation Ravensburgh."
