Man arrested after flight from Germany to US forced to land at Manchester Airport

A man was arrested before being 'sent back home' after a flight from Germany to the United States was forced to stop in Manchester. A Lufthansa flight from Munich had been on its way to Chicago on Monday evening (May 16).

But the service had to divert before leaving Europe following an issue with a passenger. The flight turned around above Ireland shortly before 5pm.

It then made its way to Manchester Airport, where it landed at 5.53pm. The aircraft was met by Greater Manchester Police following the diversion.
