Man appears in court accused of the murder of 75-year-old as trial date set
A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of a 75-year-old grandad.
Andrew Hall, 57, appeared over video link at Manchester Crown Court this morning.
Mr Hall spoke only to confirm his identity. He is charged with a single offence of murder.

Geoffery Ives was found dead in his flat in Hardfield Street, Heywood, on January 29 this year. Police found the 75-year-old's body following a ‘concern for welfare’ call the same day.
No pleas were entered during the hearing, and a trial date was set for July 31 this year.
Mr Hall, of Hardfield Street, Heywood, was remanded into custody until the preliminary hearing date to be heard on May 12 at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square.
