Malick Thiaw to Celtic. Rumour or reality?
Throughout the month of June, there have been a select few rumours circulating about players coming to Celtic.
We know the Jota and Bernabei transfers are reality and we’re hopeful that these will be sorted before this week is out.
The Vinicius Souza story has been given a lot of airtime, but this seems to have died off lately.
Does this mean our interest has cooled?
At this point in time, who knows?
I touched on how silly a silly season it has been so far in yesterday morning’s article.
But this week, two stories have arisen that would seem to make sense. In the sense that they make sense to you and I.
The question is, do they make sense to the Celtic Board and Ange Postecoglu?
I have stayed away from the Jordan Larsson debate, because for me, having grown up as a Celtic fan during the Larsson years, it’s tough to compare Jordan to his Dad.
Whether you choose to accept it or not, there would be a level of expectancy there, that could just prove to be the making or breaking of the player.
The club knows the player is available. I reckon there would be two trains of thought.
If we bring him in, he would be bringing the legendary name back to the club and he might just be fulfilling his destiny.
As I alluded to above, they may just think the expectancy levels would be too much.
Either way, they have to be thinking about it.
Whether it proceeds any further than the stories to date remains to be seen.
The second name that has started to circulate is that of Malick Thiaw.
Our connection with the 20 year old player has arisen through the possible sale of Christopher Jullien to the newly promoted Bundesliga club.
