Maidstone United manager George Elokobi on facing Sol Wanjau-Smith and Bath City, plus injury updates on Harry Kyprianou, Jordan Higgs and Raphe Brown

Maidstone could face former player Sol Wanjau-Smith when they visit managerless Bath City tonight.

Wanjau-Smith joined the Romans in the summer following his release after two years at the Gallagher Stadium.

He’s one to look out for, if he’s involved, given both his quality as a forward and his ability to draw fouls, earning a series of penalties in Stones colours.

“I think Sol’s done well at Bath, we have to be honest,” said Maidstone manager George Elokobi.

“He’s a good guy and we respect what he did in our environment.

“He gets himself in the area and it’s important, as defenders, you are clever enough not to touch him.

“But we don’t just think about that, we have to stop the ball going into our box in the first place and then see what the game brings.

“We aren’t just playing against one player, we are playing against Bath City Football Club and it’s always a tough game when teams travel there.

“We have to make sure we’re ready psychologically, physically and mentally to go out there and compete to our full potential.”

Both sides went out of the FA Trophy on Saturday but while Maidstone are eight games unbeaten in National League South, Bath have lost their last four.

The Romans’ form led to the departure of long-serving manager Jerry Dolke after seven years on Monday night, with goalkeeper coach Lee Kendall in charge tonight.

Elokobi, meanwhile, has provided an update on Maidstone’s injured players.

Harry Kyprianou, who is yet to feature this season, has been in a medical boot after a setback in his recovery from a foot injury.

Jordan Higgs has been struggling with his ankle while Raphe Brown also has a foot injury.

“The injuries are a little bit frustrating because it’s the sort of injuries that hurt on impact,”
