Mahrez: Manchester City are 'hungry' to win fifth league title in six
Riyad Mahrez says Manchester City are ready to make history this season with a fifth Premier League title in six years.
The forward said the squad are determined to ‘break records’ despite several of their top-four rivals strengthening over the summer.
His warning came as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted City look like favourites for the title, while also playing down his own side’s chances.
City fly back to the North West from a short training camp in the United States on Sunday ahead of next Sunday’s Community Shield against Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola has reshaped his squad with the signings of Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips, with the champions also hunting a left-back and Mahrez said: ‘We really, really want to win again. When the season starts, we want to go again. That’s the big motivation. We never ever think, “oh, it’s going to be easy this year,” or “we can go a bit easy”. No, we go 100 per cent from the beginning, because we want to win and we are built with this mentality.
‘What we’ve done in the last four, five years is already amazing. It would be very good to keep going and to try to break any records.’
Klopp said he was more concerned with finishing in the top four than usurping City, adding: ‘The main target for all of us is to qualify for the Champions League. That will be a massive fight this year.’
