Mackenzie fit for first BSB test
2021 BSB Champion Tarran Mackenzie is back in business with McAMS Yamaha at Snetterton this weekend
As the 26-year-old prepares for his Bennetts British Superbike title defence with the opening official BSB test of the season, he will be easing into action steadily at the Norfolk track.
Back from injury, Mackenzie will be on a bike for the first time since his January accident which saw him curtail his five-week training plan on just day two, with two months of recovery for a dislocated shoulder and fractured ankle.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the R1 this weekend,” Mackenzie confirmed. “My goal when I got injured back in January was to be fit for the first test and we’ve achieved that.
“The recovery has been really good and my physio is pleased with where I’m at. I haven’t ridden a bike since the crash, so we’ll ease ourselves back in to things - fortunately Snetterton is a track where we had a really good weekend last year so I can focus on getting myself back up to speed. It’ll be nice to be back with the team and I’m really excited to get started.”
