M60 crash LIVE updates as two lanes closed and queues building

Drivers are facing delays ahead of rush hour following a crash on the M60. Police are responding to a collision on the M60 anticlockwise, between junctions 18 at Simister Island and 17 at Prestwich and Whitefield.

Queues are building approaching the scene on the M60 and the M62 westbound. A spokesperson for North West Motorway Police posted on X: "We have reports of a collision M60 anticlockwise J18 to 17.

"National Highways en route. Traffic slow whilst passing the area."

Two lanes of traffic are currently closed in the area. The road had been blocked following following the collision, according to Inrix.
