M4, A470, A55 live Christmas getaway and shopping travel updates

It's officially that time of year again. December 23 has arrived and people are getting ready to summon the spirit of Chris Rea's famous song and drive home for Christmas. Work has ended for many across Wales meaning they can head to the locations they will be spending the most festive day of the year.

The AA has estimated that around 17 million drivers will be on the roads over the coming days. And disruption has been anticipated for many, as it is thought that a third of regular train users will travel by car due to the uncertainty caused by the ongoing rail industrial action. Others, of course, will be looking to get some last minute shopping done, so there could be plenty of tailbacks in local cities and towns too

And for some it'll be even further afield, with many leaving the country entirely to fly abroad.
