Lyle Taylor makes admission following his recent Birmingham City absence

Birmingham City forward Lyle Taylor has admitted on Instagram that he is currently working hard to overcome an injury issue that he suffered earlier this month.

The 31-year-old was ruled out of the Blues’ clash with Middlesbrough last week after sustaining a calf injury in training.

Birmingham went on to suffer a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Chris Wilder’s side and were once again unable to call upon the services of Taylor for Saturday’s meeting with Swansea City.

In the absence of the forward, the Blues were forced to settle for a draw in this clash as they failed to convert some good opportunities at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Juninho Bacuna fired over from close range after being teed up by Tahith Chong who also squandered a chance to give his side the lead.

Following the break, Maxime Colin should have put his side ahead as his effort struck the crossbar.

As a result of this draw, Birmingham moved up to 19th in the Championship standings.

Set to make their return to action on April 3rd, the Blues will be hoping to secure all three points in their meeting with West Bromwich Albion at St Andrew’s.

Making reference to his injury on Instagram, Taylor has admitted that he is working hard to overcome this issue.

The forward shared a picture of himself celebrating in a previous game for Birmingham with the caption: “Working hard to feel this again…

“Enjoy your weekend off #Bluenoses.”
