Lyle Taylor gives hint as to his current situation at Birmingham City

The forward has missed the last two games for Lee Bowyer’s side through injury.

Despite dominating against Swansea City last time out, the team has failed to score in Taylor’s absence.

That makes his return a welcome pleasure for Bowyer ahead of this weekend’s derby game with West Brom.

Taylor posted to Instagram a photo of himself playing with the caption: “1 week.”

The 31-year old is currently on loan at the club from Nottingham Forest.

In eight appearances for the Blues this Championship campaign, Taylor has scored three times.

Taylor also worked with Bowyer during their time together at Charlton Athletic, where the two enjoyed a successful partnership.

That relationship has continued well during their brief time so far together with Birmingham.

Taylor scored on his debut for the club against Derby County and has continued to perform well ever since.

His goals have helped Birmingham maintain a healthy gap to the relegation battle below them in the table.

Bowyer’s side are currently 19th in the Championship table with seven games remaining in the campaign.

Bowyer’s men are 14 points clear of the bottom three and have all but ensured their place in the second division for next season.

Up next for Birmingham is the visit of West Brom to the Hawthorns on April 3.

Taylor’s return will be a welcome sight for Birmingham City fans and teammates.

The forward has proven a valuable addition to Bowyer’s side and the team have struggled to convert their chances in his absence.

A win over West Brom won’t massively impact Birmingham’s season, but it could derail the Baggies’ play-off challenge which is incentive enough for a derby game.
