Luke Littler's typical response to Players Championship defeat after Phil Taylor message

Luke Littler, who was knocked out in the first round of the Players Championship 4 by James Wade, has joked that he now has more time to play on his Xbox.

Littler shot to fame at the PDC World Championships when he beat former world champions Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld, before losing 7-4 to Luke Humphries in the final. Since then, Littler has earned a wildcard spot in the Premier League, won the Bahrain Masters, and made his debut in the Players Championship.

He won the first Players Championship, but was knocked out in the second round and quarter-finals of the next two events. Now, the 17-year-old has been knocked out of the Players Championship 4 in Leicester after losing 6-5 to Wade. After his defeat, Littler wrote on Facebook: "Xbox all day it is..."

It comes after darts legend Phil 'The Power' Taylor said that Manchester United fan Littler's success has annoyed other professional players. In an interview with talkSPORT earlier this month, Taylor said: "I think he is absolutely fantastic.

"I have got to be honest with you, and I know he's got the backs up of the other pros which I love to see. I wasn't really watching darts, I wasn't really interested in it and he's made me interested in watching it again.

Former world champion Phil Taylor believes the youngster has what it takes to cope with the pressure that comes with success.He stated: "I even watched some of the streaming yesterday [Players Championship 2] so that's not me! But I've really enjoyed watching him. He's a great little player, he's got a great little personality and it hasn't affected him
