Luis Diaz has spoken after making his first-team debut for Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The Reds' January recruit was introduced just before the hour mark alongside Harvey Elliott and helped Jurgen Klopp's side book their place in the fifth-round of the FA Cup.

It didn't take long for the Colombian to offer a glimpse of his quality to supporters, having set up Takumi Minamino's goal after being on the pitch for only ten minutes.

Diaz capitalised on a defensive mistake from Perry Ng, enabling him to gain possession and feed the path into the path of Minamino to score.

There was concern later on in the match, however, as Liverpool's new signing looked to be in real discomfort after his knee was stood on by Cardiff defender Aden Flint.

Fortunately, these worries were short-lived as Diaz completed the remainder of his debut as the Reds secured a 3-1 win.

Reflecting on his debut after the match, the 25-year-old sent a message to supporters on social media.

"Dream debut, it's incredible to be at Anfield and feel its atmosphere on the pitch," Diaz tweeted.

"Great team match. Let's go Reds."
