Lowry feeling in form ahead of Match Play and Masters
Shane Lowry feels he can make a major impact in two upcoming high-profile tournaments after another solid finish last weekend.
The Offaly man finished in 12th place in the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook and is now preparing for the WGC Match Play and the Masters.
Last week's tournament was close to his new home in Florida and he feels it is benefitting his form.
"I would have preferred if the course had played a bit firmer, like I did today, all week. That would've been nice, but I like it here, and I'll be back here.
"I really like the tournament. The course I think suits my eye. I’m getting used to playing in Florida now that I’m living down here now so yeah it’s all good."
With the Match Play and Augusta on the horizon, Lowry is hopeful he can keep the good parts of his play which has led to several high finishes this season.
"The game's been pretty good, but it's been a frustrating week this week, especially when I am looking at 16 under leading out there now.
"I feel like I could've been a lot better, but my game is in great shape, and we've got a great stretch of tournaments coming up, so I'm really excited for the next run of events.
"The Match Play it's going to be good, but it's a quick turnaround.
"I feel like I have had no days off the last few weeks. It's been busy with The Players going into Monday and the matchplay with the Wednesday start."
