Lood de Jager expecting All Black backlash at Ellis Park: 'They'll come with everything they have'

Springbok lock forward Lood de Jager is expecting the All Blacks to bring their wrath come the second Rugby Championship Test at Ellis Park on Saturday.

New Zealand is smarting after being totally outplayed in Mbombela last week, succumbing to a flattering 26-10 defeat that could have been more in favour of the Springboks.

However, with head coach Ian Foster under pressure after a third straight defeat, the All Blacks cannot be discounted.

And De Jager is not letting his guard down.

"The All Blacks are a very proud team and rugby nation," he said.

"They will be desperate … even more desperate than they were in Mbombela.

"We've been in that position before where you fall to fifth or sixth in the world, and you'd do anything to get back to that top spot.

"And I think they'll definitely be in the mindset. For us, it's about doing a good review of the game and then play them again this week, so we can focus on ourselves a lot and on what we can still improve on.

"They'll come with everything they have. We're expecting a massive battle on the weekend."

Springbok head coach Jacques Nienaber will name his side to face Foster's men by 12:30 on Tuesday.
