Longtime Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux traded to Florida Panthers, sources say
The Florida Panthers are acquiring longtime Flyers captain Claude Giroux in a trade with Philadelphia, sources told ESPN's Emily Kaplan.
According to sources, Florida's offer for Giroux was «aggressive» but «not as aggressive as Boston or Colorado.»
Giroux, one of the top face-off men in the league, gives Florida center Aleksander Barkov an elite player to play with.
Giroux, 34, has played his entire career in Philadelphia after being selected 22nd overall in the 2006 NHL draft. He recently played in his 1000th NHL game.
