"LOL! He bought cocktails in Manchester? Then moaned about the price?": Man's fury at being charged £31 for two cocktails at Sexy Fish sparks debate

If you're ordering cocktails at one of Manchester's newest and flashiest restaurants it's safe to assumer you're not going to be paying Wetherspoons' prices. But one customer at stylish new bar Sexy Fish in Spinningfields was left scratching his head after getting a bill that 'made no sense'.

The man, who has asked not to be named, was charged more than £31 after having two classic negroni cocktails - priced on the menu at £9.25 each - while sitting at the bar with his flatmate. After querying the bill, he was told it was the result of a 'till error' that was later rectified. The Manchester Evening News reported on the mix-up, and it caused a bit of a stir on our Facebook page.

But others felt it was wrong that the bar had tried to impose a service charge. Jason Parkes wrote: "He sat at the bar and still had to pay a service charge???? For what??? the bartender walked 6 foot???"

Keegan Flowers said: "Think people are missing the point here. The bill not even showing that there’s been an additional charge onto of the price is crazy.
