Rangers have been spared the ultimate ignominy of kicking off in west Lothian as the Scottish Premiership bottom dogs.

That is thanks to Aberdeen who missed not one but two chances to send their rivals to the foot of the top flight for the first time in their history.

But sitting eleventh in the table is embarrassing enough for the Ibrox legions and under-fire boss Russell Martin after five league games.

A win against Livingston wouldn't even move Rangers into the top six as things stand with just four points so far in a dire start to the campaign.

Celtic had a rare slip up as they were held at home by Hibs on Saturday but it barely even registered among the Rangers legions given the gulf between the sides already.

Martin just needs to start winning games and fast and David Martindale's men won't make it easy for them at a notoriously difficult venue.
