Liverpool warned over Jarrod Bowen transfer price

Gabriel Agbonlahor thinks any club looking to sign Jarrod Bowen from West Ham United may have to pay a huge fee should he receive an England call up.

Liverpool have long been linked with the attacking midfielder, with the player understood to be one of a number of options being considered by the club.

The Reds did strengthen their attacking options in January with the acquisition of Porto winger Luis Diaz, who has made a bright start to life at Anfield.

With that in mind, not to mention the plethora of world-class attackers already available to manager Jurgen Klopp, it will be intriguing to see if Liverpool dip back into the transfer market in the summer to sign another forward.

If they do, then Bowen may well be on their list, as the West Ham man's energy, versatility and new-found productivity means he would be an ideal fit for the current setup.

However, Agbonlahor believes the surge in goals from Bowen will have a big impact on the Hammers' potential asking price, as will a likely upcoming invitation to join the Three Lions' squad.

"From all the wingers available I think he deserves to be in the [England] squad, definitely," said the ex-Aston Villa man, per Football Insider.

"Then clubs like Liverpool will look at him more. They will want to see him challenging against the best players in the world and that will put his price up even more.

"He definitely deserves it, he’s been outstanding. He’s continuing to score and get assists. The wingers who are usually in the squad have not been performing anywhere near him. There will be outrage if he’s not in the squad."

Bowen has always been a functional player under David Moyes, but the numbers he has posted will no doubt be catching the eye of some of the biggest clubs
