Liverpool star Mohamed Salah sends clear warning after Man City double blow

Manchester City and Arsenal have been sent a clear title warning by Liverpool's Mohamed Salah after he scored in their 2-1 victory over Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side suffered a dent to their title hopes this weekend when they fell to their second defeat in the space of four days. Tottenham Hotspur knocked them out of the Carabao Cup in the round of 16 on Wednesday night, and Bournemouth then inflicted a 2-1 league defeat at the Vitality on Saturday as part of a double blow this week.

Liverpool, on the other hand, came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield after initially falling behind in the first half. Cody Gakpo and Salah were on the scoresheet to fire the Merseyside club to the top of the Premier League table after 10 games.

City now sit in second place, two points behind their rivals, while Arsenal are seven points off the pace. Guardiola's side have suffered a number of injury setbacks in recent weeks, with Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias and John Stones currently on the sidelines.

For Liverpool, talk of their title charge is being overshadowed by the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Salah is yet to pen an extension on his current deal, which is set to expire at the end of the current season.
