Liverpool ready to alter transfer plans with Klopp blown away and pushing to sign experienced Inter Milan man
Liverpool are reportedly considering an approach to sign Marcelo Brozovic this summer amid claims the Croatian caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye during last week’s Champions League round-of-16 clash at the San Siro.
The Reds – winners of the competition in 2019 – look well placed to reach the quarter-finals again after a 2-0 first-leg win on Wednesday. However, Klopp’s side were forced to dig deep for their victory, thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Indeed, they were the only two shots on target Liverpool could muster all game. As such, their usual attacking verve was restricted due to a number of key performers in the Inter Milan side.
One of those was the performance of Ivan Perisic down the left. He was so good that a Liverpool icon claimed one of Klopp’s favourite players is now their weak link in the side.
Perisic’s performance was matched by experienced duo Brozovic and Arturo Vidal in midfield. The pair ensured a tight and tense battle in the midfield on the night. Indeed, Klopp brought on both Jordan Henderson and Naby Keita to try and gain more control in the middle.
