Liverpool news: Kylian Mbappe transfer stance as Jurgen Klopp gives striker update

Livepool fans still hoping to see Kylian Mbappe at Anfield in a red shirt should prepare for disappointment if his dad's past comments are anything to go by.

The French superstar is set to become one of this summer's most sought-after signings with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire.

He has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool, with some fans still harbouring hope of a stunning switch for the World Cup winner.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has shared a worrying update about the fitness of forwards Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino ahead of this weekend's Carabao Cup Final.

And the Reds appear set to take advantage of a vulnerable Leeds United on Wednesday night.

Here are latest Liverpool headlines.

Liverpool look perfectly placed to take advantage of Leeds United's major vulnerability when the two sides face off in their Premier League clash on Wednesday night.

Jurgen Klopp's side have been on fire up front this season, and with 64 goals to their name they have found the back of the net more than any other side in the division.

And Leeds United appear to be just about the perfect opposition for them, with only one other side conceding more goals in the Premier League this season.

Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino will both miss Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Leeds United – and could both have to sit out the Carabao Cup final as well.

Portuguese forward Jota limped out of the San Siro on crutches following the Reds' 2-0 Champions League win last week, while Firmino suffered a muscle injury following that game.

Klopp has now issued an update on the fitness of both stars – and it doesn't appear to be good news for Liverpool ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.
