Liverpool: Luis Diaz’s skill vs Chelsea’s Reece James was outrageous
Luis Diaz certainly impressed for Liverpool in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley.
The Colombia international, who joined the Reds from FC Porto in January for an initial £37 million fee, started on the left-hand side of Liverpool’s attack alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
And Diaz certainly wasn’t overawed by the occasion. The 25-year-old gave Chelsea’s defenders a difficult afternoon with his skill, pace and desire to drive forwards at every opportunity.
Judging by his first six appearances for Liverpool, it seems that Jurgen Klopp and his recruitment team have done it yet again.
They’ve signed a quality player who’s already improved the squad for a very good price.
It was noted how often Diaz was producing no-look passes at Wembley. He was clearly eager to impress and put on a show.
But this is a player who combines flashy skills with end product.
One clip of Diaz from Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea has gone viral on social media.
The South American produced a stunning touch to flick the ball over the head of Reece James, one of the Premier League’s best full-backs, before playing a no-look pass to Mane.
