Liverpool lead Man City, Newcastle in Jobe Bellingham transfer race after emphatic Jude update

Liverpool are among the early favourites to sign Birmingham City wonderkid Jobe Bellingham, though their chances of signing brother Jude are practically nil.

The Reds have taken a liking to signing promising youngsters who are tipped to go far in recent years. Harvey Elliott was snapped up from Fulham when only 16 and has already thrust himself into first-team contention this season.

And according to the Mirror, Liverpool have another iron in the fire in the form of Birmingham City midfielder, Jobe Bellingham.

The 16-year-old is the brother of Borussia Dortmund sensation, Jude. Jude has also been linked with Liverpool in recent times, though recently made his short-term future crystal clear.

Speaking to German outlet Ruhr Nachrichten, Jude Bellingham stated: “The only future I think about is the next game for Dortmund.

“I look forward to next season. I look forward to it finally starting. But yes, I will be here next season and I will be ready.”

With Jude off the table for another year at least, the Mirror shed light on Liverpool’s burgeoning pursuit of Jobe.

The newspaper describe Liverpool as ‘leading’ the race in which Man City and Newcastle are contenders.

The Reds have reportedly asked to be kept abreast of his situation with Jobe free to sign a professional contract with other clubs beginning next season.

Jobe has made three senior appearances for Lee Bowyer’s side despite only being 16. Understandably, the Blues wish to keep the talented youngster around for a little while longer and have offered him scholarship terms.
