Liverpool fan who refused to cash-out £100 quadruple bet saved by Dimitar Berbatov

While Sunday was a painful one for everyone associated with Liverpool Football Club, it’s hard to believe that any fan was more gutted than Tanya Hanley after Manchester City beat Aston Villa to win the Premier League title.

Tanya is the Liverpool fan who refused to cash out on a £100 bet that she made at the start of the season for the Reds to win the quadruple, despite receiving several generous offers.

Betfair offered Tanya £22,712 to cash out last Saturday. One day later, she was given a partial cash-out offer of £25k plus a further £100k if Liverpool won the Premier League and Champions League. She also had the option to cash out for £35k prior to kick-off on Sunday.

Tanya stood to win £367,200 from her first ever bet if Liverpool won the quadruple. But by 6pm on Sunday, she was left empty-handed.

However, there’s been some positive news for Tanya, thanks to a late intervention from ‘VAR-Batov’.

Dimitar Berbatov, the former Manchester United and Tottenham star, said: “Of course I saw the news about Tanya the Liverpool fan and oh my god, she
