Liverpool, Chelsea on red alert after striker target admits ‘attraction’ to the Premier League

Liverpool and Chelsea, along with fellow English clubs Arsenal and Tottenham, are on red alert after exciting striker Jonathan David made an admission about moving to the Premier League.

The Canada international spent time in the Ottawa ISC youth setup before moving to Belgian outfit Gent in January 2018. After gaining promotion to their first team that summer, he went on to register 37 goals and 15 assists in 83 matches.

David’s keen eye for goal alerted clubs all across Europe to his talent, but it was Lille who won the race for his signature in August 2020.

They paid around £24.3million to give the goalscorer his first shot at one of Europe’s top five leagues.

David hit 13 strikes in his debut campaign, helping Lille to win their first Ligue 1 title in 10 years. The 22-year-old also appeared in eight Europa League matches before the round of 32 defeat to Ajax.

David continues to make an impact in France. His record for the current campaign stands at 16 goals in 33 matches so far. That includes braces in league games against Strasbourg, Marseille and Monaco.

The 22-year-old is clearly good enough to make it at an elite club. And he could move to England this summer following his latest admission about the Premier League.
