Liverpool 2-0 Watford: Reds go top of the Premier League

Liverpool are top of the Premier League after a 2-0 victory over Watford at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s side overcame Roy Hodson’s Hornets thanks to Diogo Jota’s first-half header and a late penalty from Fabinho.

It moved the Reds two points above Manchester City – although Pep Guardiola’s men can move back above Liverpool if they beat Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

The opening goal came halfway through the first half.

Joe Gomez, who started at right-back in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold, produced a brilliant cross that Jota got ahead of goalkeeper Ben Foster to head home.
