Live Wales press conference updates as Matt Sherratt starts work and new players arrive

Matt Sherratt begins his first Test week as Wales interim head coach today as they gear up for the unenviable task of overcoming the rampant Irish this weekend.

It's the first Monday morning without Warren Gatland in charge of a Wales team since December 2022 and the national team are at their lowest ebb. Without a win in 14 Tests, a run dating back to the 2023 World Cup, Sherratt's first task will be pick up the squad's confidence off the floor.

Sherratt and the coaching staff will step out on to the training pitches at their Vale of Glamorgan training base this morning in the hope that it signals a fresh start and a tentative first step towards breaking this winless cycle.
