LIVE updates: Police and forensics at site of old retail park in Ancoats after body is found
Police and crime scene investigators are at the site of a former retail park in Manchester City Centre this afternoon (September 18). after a body was found. Pictures from the scene show a large police presence and forensics at what was formerly known as Central Retail Park, off Great Ancoats Street.
As well as numerous police vehicles, an ambulance and a CSI van were seen parked up along the busy road, which is close to the city centre. Shortly after 6.30pm, a private ambulance also arrived at the scene, in which a body was taken away on a stretcher.
And officers dressed in white forensics suits were also seen at the site, which was knocked down in 2017 after it had previously been used for shops. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for more information on the incident.
