Live updates as trains halted at London Paddington following reported death
Massive disruption is being experienced for commuters at London Paddington at the moment due to "multiple incidents" between the major train station and Reading. People travelling today say that announcements have been made over the tannoy at Paddington of a fatality.
National Rail writes on its website: "Due to the emergency services attending multiple incidents between Reading and London Paddington, some lines are currently closed. Trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised as a result. Major disruption is expected until 8pm."
Routes affected include Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Bristol Parkway / Bristol Temple Meads / Cardiff Central / Carmarthen / Cheltenham Spa / Didcot Parkway / Great Malvern / Hereford / Newbury / Newquay / Paignton / Pembroke Dock / Penzance / Plymouth / Swansea / Taunton / Weston-super-Mare / Worcester Foregate Street
Elizabeth line services between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead / Reading / Heathrow Terminal 4, also between Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 5, and Heathrow Express services between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5
