Live updates as Storm Elin flood warnings and alerts issued in Wales

Wet and windy weather dominates the weekend forecast for much of the UK, with a number of Met Office weather warnings in force. The Irish forecasting service Met Éireann has named the current area of low pressure affecting the UK Storm Elin.

Natural Resources Wales has issued three flood warnings and 16 flood alerts across the country, and the railway line between Bridgend and Rhoose is flooded. National Rail says that trains between Bridgend and Rhoose Cardiff International Airport are unable to run due to heavy rain flooding the railway.

Trains between Bridgend and Cardiff Central via Llantwit Major will terminate / start at Rhoose Cardiff International Airport.

A Met Office yellow warning for wind is also in place for the whole of Wales. The warnings started at 9am and is in place to just before midnight.

The warning states: "Winds will increase in the west during Saturday morning then across other areas through the afternoon. Gusts of 45 to 55 mph are likely quite widely, with 60-70 mph possible along Irish Sea coasts. Winds then easing slowly from the west through the evening."
