Live updates as crash and emergency repairs cause long M4 delays

A crash and emergency repairs are causing long rush hour delays on the M4 through Swansea. One lane is closed and there is slow traffic due to a collision on the eastbound carriageway, between Junction 45 (Ynysforgan) and Junction 44 Peniel Green Road (Llansamlet).

Traffic monitoring service Inrix says there are existing emergency repairs since 6am this morning at Junction 45 that had seen one lane closed and queuing traffic. Congestion is now up to Junction 47 ( Penllergaer / Swansea West Services). Travel time is 25 minutes.

Traffic cameras also show long queues in the area. Traffic Wales said: "Heavy congestion in the area due to current lane closure in place for emergency repairs. Please plan ahead and allow additional time for your journeys."
