Live updates as accident closes two lanes of M4 at Cardiff between J32 and J33

An accident closed two lanes of the M4 near a busy Cardiff junction during the Monday morning rush hour.

It happened on the westbound carriageway between junction 32 Coryton and junction 33 Cardiff West.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported there was debris on the road and that lanes one and two were closed.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene, and Traffic Wales said that the vehicles involved were moved to the hard shoulder by 7.40am.

But congestion remained on the M4 and on the A470 southbound, causing delays for commuters travelling into the city.
