Live updates after crash shuts road in Gorseinon in both directions

A road in Gorseinon has been closed by police after a crash involving two vehicles, South Wales Police have confirmed.

Officers are urging people to avoid Alexandra Road, if they can, and say it is likely to be closed "for some time," following the collision.

South Wales Police has confirmed two vehicles were involved in a collision at 3pm on Friday, February 11, but have not yet stated the type of vehicles involved or whether anyone was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson said: "Emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision in Alexandra Road, Gorseinon, at the junction of Bryn-Amlwg Road. The collision involved two vehicles. The road is closed in both directions and is not likely to re-open for some time.

"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes."
