LIVE: Stockport street taped off with firefighters at the scene - latest updates

Firefighters have descended on a Stockport street following an incident. Emergency services are in attendance on Brownsville Road, in Heaton Moor, this afternoon (December 31).

Images from the scene show the road taped off by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS). At least three fire engines were initially at the scene.

It's understood police also attended the incident. One fire engine remains in attendance. It's believed crews responded to a fire at a ground floor flat. Images show smoke damage to the front of a property.
