LIVE: Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU goes on sale - where to buy one, release time, stock updates and cost

Nvidia will be launching its highly-anticipated new generation of graphics cards today.

The gaming tech giant claims that the new GPU brings "an enormous leap in performance, efficiency, and AI-powered graphics". However, stock for the card is expected to run out fast after gamers all over the globe faced difficulty in getting their hands on a new GPU without paying inflated prices.

However, with the pandemic almost slowing to a complete halt and factory production running back up again, graphics cards are now widely available at reasonable prices. Earlier this year, Nvidia told investors that "excess inventory" is bringing down the need for high prices of its 3000-series GPUs.

The RTX 4090 will release worldwide later this afternoon at 2pm British Time and will run at an eye-watering cost of £1699. Despite the excessively large price tag, it is understood that the RTX 4090 will provide a significant performance increase compared to its previous predecessor.

The GeForce RTX 4090 boasts a boost clock of 2.52GHz and base clock of 2.23GHz, 24GB of GDDR6X memory and a memory interface width of 384-bit.

The 4090 is expected to be available at:
